(a) The course taken on this occasion by the English language
affords a sort of emblem adapted to this course. In English
the appellation of a body of men in authority acting in small and determinate
number with mutually coordinate authority under the in subordination to the Crown
is termed a Board. As to the name is taken was originally from the
table, an implement which in such occasion men
find a common having before them: Board being the
word formerly used in cases where the word table is used
