1827. Jany. 24. 1827 Nov. 22.
Constitutional Code Ch. IX. Ministers Ch. XII Judiciary Collectively
§. 13 §. 26 Term of Service

and to the father by whom is made to his son a
certain allowance, which, on his receipt of the
provision in question, he withdraws, it makes no
difference whatever, whether the hand into which
the money is paid to be his own or his sons: of neither
of the two is it in the least degree at all probable
that he will spontaneously come forward in a judicatory
and give evidence of this transaction:
of neither of them is is probable that he will thus
spontaneously call down upon himself the indignation
of his father, and cover the whole family
with disgrace. But this one relation mode is but one out
of an infinity of others, in which, with little less than
certain security, the same corrupt purpose might
be effected.
