II. Inessential features and separable features

9 (1.) The number of the members the same in on the occasion of every
cause.

10. (2.) The number of the members exactly twelve in
every cause.

11. (3) The members each of them bound to declare an
opinion, and before the judicatory separates, whether he has
been able to form any opinion on the subject or not.

12. (4) The members bound, all of them, to declare themselves
to have formed the same opinion, to whatsoever part of the number
of them it may have happened to have formed either not to have been able to
form any opinion, or to have formed an opinion opposite
to that d the opinion declared to be given in as theirs. The obligation
enforced by confinement, modified in such manner of such a nature as by continuance
to be converted into torture.(a) (a) ☞ Apply this to Lords Elden and Redesdale.
