Has it happened Your handkerchief has it been stolen
out of your pocket? Go to a Justice of the Peace Police Office, and
through a chain composed of pawnbrokers, and washerwomen,
and thieves and brother thieves, this
judge, powers not having been refused having been given to him by law
will find out or at least do what what is to be done the nature of the case admitts of his doing for the purpose
of finding out the evidence that shall enable you to convict
the thief.

With the same facility would you have been enabled
to have traced out trace out the evidence necessary to prove your title
to your estate, if in the of those on whom it depended any
the smallest part of that sollicitude had been but a taken but half a small part of the
tenth part as desirous sollicitous to preserve your estate for you
in your own hands, as to the value of it contained
in litigation for the benefit of learned licensed
and well practised all powerful and irresistible depredation.

Another want that might have been found by Blackstone,
and at the same time (and without going any further
than to one of those Courts of Conscience by the aristocracy of
which his own conscience is alarmed)† † III. 380 an exemplification of the
supply, is – the want of compelling powers for compelling
securing the appearance of both parties, (where vicinity
of residence admitts) the appearance of both parties, at
the very outset of the cause, in the presence of each other and
the Judge: or in plain English to speak more correctly to compel the Judge
himself to submitt to one interview in which if compelled
to submitt to it, every leading Judge that is under the fee-gathering
system as established in English Judicature every learned
Judge would behold see the ruin of his trade.
