Advertisement to Letters to Conde de Toreno

Of the The fourth of these Letters of mine were in the
point of being sent off when I received from him in Spanish a
second Letter, which being the third Letter is in its
in Spanish, and is in the following words. Underneath</add> is following Letter in Spanish, of which the following is a

My acknowledgement of it may be seen in the Postscript
to that same fourth Letter.

On the 22d of that same month, (August 1821)
and not before, I received the work which it announces.

On the 11th of September 1821, I sent off
the Count being still at Paris, I sent off in manuscript, directed
seven Letters. They were The succeeding ones
were directed to him either to him at Paris to the care
of the Spanish mission there, or to him at Madrid.
The day on which the last of them was sent off was
October the Second of November, 1821.

To The reader, as he proceeds, it can not but it can scarce fail
be matter of some curiosity, to learn the sensation to be matter of some curi more or less curious, to have some conception, of
the sort of effect produced by it on the part of the two distinguished
