2. Intimidation. This is the eventually efficient cause the matter of infelicity – the matter of evil, considered as applied to the
purpose in question. The most prominent and extensive
instance is that in which the evil matter of evil is applied
to this same purpose in the character of matter of punishment: punishment evil
in the consideration event of a mans failing to contribute to the felicity
of the person in question in the manner pointed out to him
by the directive rules of law which legislators the arrangements of government furnish.
