Acceptance given to his Offer of an All-comprehensive Code. 22. Acts and Journals of the Cortes to be accordingly successively sent to him.

The General and Extraordinary Cortes of the
Portugueze Nation, on their being presented presentation being made to them
in the Sittings of the 26th of November last, of a Letter
which you addressed to them by you, making offer of, and
demanding requesting acceptance for, three proposed Codes, one
Civil, another Penal, and another Constitutional, on
accommodated, all of them, to the circumstances
of Portugal; adding the mention, of an Appendix,
intended to be sent by the then next Conveyance, have
resolved that in an Act of the Congress mention
shall be made of that of valuable highly valued offer, of which
the Cortes have accepted with particular pleasure,
for that in as much as the well known lights and experience
of so celebrated a Jurisconsult, and
illustrious friend of mankind will thus come in and
of an undertaking of our's in which they have that same
been comprized is field is comprehended: as also, that a translation of
the aforementioned Letter be published in the
Daily Paper of the Government, and with the
of the original by the side of it, in the Journal of the Cortes; and
these should be forwarded that transmission shall be made to you of a Collection
of the Acts and Journals of the Cortes, the as also of the continuation,
whereof shall be transmitted to you thereof
the ascending numbers as they shall appear come out.
All which, I by the bodies of the Cortes, I have
the pleasure of communicating to you by Order of
the Cortes
for your information.
