§. 23 Self-Supplitive function

whether the business might not on some occasions
be paralled out with advantage between Deputy and
Deputy's substitute, both acting at the same time
the one taking part in what may be called the
Indoor business means that which is performed in
the Assembly chamber, in contradistinction to what may
be called the Outdoor business – meaning that which
consists in the making enquiries preparatory to motions
to wit by the exercise of the inquisitorial or Evidence
evidence-checking part of the judicial authority: as to
which see §. 26 Legislation Enquiry Judicatory

For distinction sake, whether or no in a
recent recent French practice, the Deputy Deputies wears any
bears on his power in the Assembly Chamber
any such mark it may be of use that the Substituters
should: the eye of the public could then be attracted

to pronounce as to the usefulness of this part of the system.
