Constitutional Code
Art. 11. For the more apt performance of the services belonging
to the office of Judicial Register the the Judicial Justice Minister will cause the manifold
be near the loss mode of writing to be uniformly employed
in the business of every such office.
The mode of writing is this.
The manifold mode of writing is other Instead of a pen, a style, without ink, is employed.
Under the style, as under a pen, are laid
one under another, in number the same as that of the
exemplars required, sheets of appropriate thin paper,
alternating with the correspondent number of thin sheets of
silk, or any other of a sufficiently thin and sufficiently strong woven
matter substance, if such there be, dabbed over with black matter of appropriate
composition, performing the function of printer's
ink in printing. In this way, by one and the same
course taken at the same time one and the same time by the style, may exemplars be produced
in any number not exceeding twelve, with not much
more expence of time and labour than is commonly employed in the
production of an a single exemplar, by pen and
ink. Eight exemplars at once, all of them perfectly legible,
have thus been habitually produced.
