2. Advocates. Argumentator would be the more is the only directly expressive
name for the class of men by whom the function here
in question is performed. Advocatus as far from whence
Advocate means in the original Latin one who is called
on. Not the functionary by whom the suit is conducted or
managed on behalf of one of the parties is as much called on as the man who is
employed to speak in the way of argument in support
of the interest of that same party in the suit.

Advocate is the term ordinarily applied wherein Rome-bred
law has place.

In one of the English Judicatories the Court of Common
