§. 1. Class one only Instruction
In the state of things Now then in regard to justice what was the consequence?
The Client who could afford to pay the extra price received
the benefit of the extra talent: the Client who could not afford
was not rich enough to purchase it went without it. But
the better the cause is in itself, the less is the need it has
of extra talent the worse the greater need it has of any such extra talent,
the advantage therefore was possessed in an exclusive degree
by the comparatively wealthy, and in the greater degree
by each in proportion to the badness of his cause.
By To every one who could find adequate employment in this
better paid and more agreeable part of the business at
the exclusion of all the other parts in this way when he wants to
accept of employment. But a proportionate to their reputation
and opulence would be the influence acquired by this distinguished
class. To maximize that distinction an object of common this needed
endeavour would be so constituted formed by law or custom into a separate
class: a class looking down upon the undistinguished herd
out of which they had sprung risen: a class into which to render
the distinction uncontrovertible none should be admitted who
continued to should continue or commence or continue in the
inferior class.
