§. 8. how commenced
Art. 5. When The Applicant has having said I am apprised:
the Judge to Applicant, holding out to him, as printed
on a Tablet The Applicants direction an Applicant-directing law Are you apprized
of this? Applicant I am. Judge. For which purpose then
do you apply? Applicant. The purpose so naming or or so it
the necessary naming them as in the Directory.
Art. 6. By the Judicial Applicants Directory understand
the law, on which whereon the purposes, for which as per §. 2, a Judicial Application
is receivable are laid down. See Ch. Formularies

Art. 6. If from In case of Applicants silence, or irrelevant
answer answer the Judge proceeds as per Art. 3. and 4. untill the
Applicant has fixt upon one of the abovementioned purposes, or departed.
Art. 7. The Applicant having named one of the
purposes, his name is received, as and entered on the list of that
days applicants, as No 1 or No 2 &c according to the Under a No expressive of the order
in which he has been received.
Note (a) to Art. 4.
(a) All this, it may be seen will would in general, be but
the affair of a moment. In English practice the correspondent
formulary called Swearing, or Taking an Oath, is not a long
one. The one here proposed would be still shorter.

(b) In the English House of Commons, when a Member
has to present a proposed law (to bring in a Bill is the
phrase (– for in English practice a Bill which signifies nothing is made to
signify anything and everything) he presents himself
in a certain place to the Speaker So the President such is
the official denomination of the only Member who in a debate
has no right to speak any more than to move. Speaker upon
(remembering his name) what have you got there? Member. A Bill, Sir.
