In case of debt it
pursuers evidence allowed
in 9 cases out of the Defendant
wod not venture a denial

Of the cases in which the claim on the Pursuer's
side would be just, in the case of
a demand standing on simple ground as
in the case of an ordinary uncompounded
debt, it may be questioned whether out often
instances, the Defendant, speaking under
the sort of sanction to which both parties
are here subjected, would venture a denial
in so much as one.
