judiciary oath to be administered to a party (Code Civil
art. 1357) and thus it is as if for the encouragement of perjury it he is not s specially exempted
from counter interrogation all proof of falsity art. 1363) and thence as
it should seem from any such unpleasant operation as
that counter interrogation to which an extraneous witness
is in every case subjected.
