41. All the members of the permanent Committees
shall continue in them, during the time that they
serve as Representatives: if he is not removed for
just cause, in virtue of a special resolution of the
Chamber.
42. One of the Committees shall be called the Legislation
Committee; and its functions shall be; to
examine, & report to the Chamber upon any project
having reference, to civil, correctional or criminal,
legislation, to the Judges, to Religion, to the
Clergy, and to Public Instruction.
43. Another shall be called, the Finance Committee
and shall have for its charge, the examination of every
subject, relative to the system of Finance in all
its branches, to commerce, and its administration of
justice, to public works, lands, mines, coins, manufactures,
and to all branches kinds of industry.
44. Another shall be called the Military Committee; to
whom shall belong the revision of every thing concerning, military
corps, works, and military operations in general.
45. The fourth shall be called the Petition Committee;
and to it shall pertain, the editing of the Journal of the
Sessions; and the direction of its publication; to have
cognizance of the documents which shall legalize the election
of the Representatives; and to report upon all petitions or particular subjects.
