The attention bestowed upon this letter
can not but depend, in some degree, upon such
conception as may be formed in relation to
the writer. Personally, and by connection taken together,
my influence, (the occasion imposes on
me the necessity of mentioning) is not exceeded
by any other: proofs, such as the nature of the case
allows of, are at your command.

For the deputation sent to from Guatemala to
the late Spanish Cortes, I was returned as deputy
by one province [] 1. Sn Miguel and as Suppleant
by another []2. Sn Salvador My Father, whose Father
[or who was] born in Spain, is even now in
possession of a Lordship [name it Cobides] in that
country: where he is now upon a visit to an
Aunt of mine, his Sister. When Guatemala took
upon itself the form of a Commonwealth, the
few persons who were in possession of Spanish
titles, made a Surrender of them: among them
were my Mother's father, the Marquis of [ ]
.and the Marquis of [ ] [state the relationship]
I am in daily expectation of letters from
Guatemala: among them it is not improbable,
may be one appointing me Agent for that
Country in this.
The circumstances of the case are such
as afford no motive for misrepresentation:
and if I it were otherwise, Mr. Canning is not not a person on
whom to make any such attempt.
