11. Disreputable qualities moral and intellectual
and personal corporeal together may with regard to their effects
be divided into Eight Classes. 1. Qualities immediately mischievous
to others. 2. Qualities importing the absence
of qualities immediately useful to others. 3. Qualities immediately disagreeable
to others. 4. Qualities importing the absence of qualities
immediately agreeable to others. 5. Qualities immediately mischievous to one's a man
self the man himself.. 6. Qualities importing the absence of qualities
immediately useful to one's self a man himself. 7. Qualities immediately disagreeable to
one's self. 8. Qualities importing the absence of qualities
immediately agreeable to one's self.(a)
NOTE.
(a) Qualities Agreeable qualities refer to present pleasure: useful to the absence of pain and to future pleasure: and so mutatis mutandis, with regard to disagreable qualities. The division is therefore an exhaustive one, embracing the whole possible circle of possible material such qualities of a as in a human being can be material. See Introd

12. A compleat Catalogue ought to be made of all
the qualities that come under any of the above descriptions.
In forming such a catalogue, the best way is to only effectual way seems
to be turn over a Dictionary of the Language, and pick out
the terms required. Nor will it be so tedious as at first
