Fraudulent
Substitution.
Fraudulent Substitution is where a man is
concerned (A) in stealing (B) embezzling (C) or fraudulently obtaining (D)
any thing of value (E), leaving (F) or delivering (G) in the room
of it some other thing of less value knowing it not to
be the same (H) but intending that it shall be taken for
the same.

[(F) Leaving] 1. As if a person having formed a project for
stealing or fraudulently obtaining from a lapidary a
certain jewel goes into the shop and having obtained
leave to view it, carries it off privily leaving a counterfeit
in the room of it.
