1818 July 4
Penal Code

Why no insurrection, why no plot why no riots – why no ?
Because there being no cause for irritation no evil effect is
produced. No needless taxation: no needless pain: no factitious
dignity: no needless nor overpaid places: no established
imposture in any shape: no anti christian inequality or pretence
of supporting maintaining Christianity: no forced at the exertion for the support
of and the declared weakness of the creator against the superior
power of the creature. In a word no irritation, because
no provocation: no cause of irritation, therefore as such
effect.
