Law Amendments – Penal Code
As to the two another point particular in which they
agree is this – namely that as the pure and crystal
stream of which the greatest happiness principle is
the fountain spread and advance in its course it
will bear down and carry off the instead of
both of hem and consign them ultimately to the
gulph of oblivion, in what they will finally be swallowed
up.
Then will the books of English-bred law jurisprudence and
Rome-bred jurisprudence shew the fate of those of which
the library of Alexandria was composed: with this difference
that while the manuscript contents of Alexandrian treasure the Egyptian library was conveyed
to universal and indiscriminately destruction by the decree sentence
of an ignor unenlightened barbarian the printed contents of this
portion of the several European libraries will be consigned
to destruction by discriminating judgments of grounded
on the conviction of their entire utter uselessness, and of the
work that would be committed of whatsoever portion of
time and labour should have come to be were by any person bestowed upon them.
