Penal Code

Art. 3. Of modes of producing corporal reparation,
even and above those already referred to,
examples (as) here follow. But note that they are
but examples. For, so as bodily pain or uneasiness
to a material amount is but produced, and
produced by an act accompanied with the design
of producing it, whether singly, and to the
exclusion of other such effects, or undiscriminatelyingly,
in conjunction with a chance of producing either
one or more of such effects, it matters not in
what shape, or by what means, the corporal
vexation - the bodily suffering - is produced.

Here insert some examples from the Books;
having ranged them under heads.

(a.) Examples
1. Offences annoying to the ear. Noises produced so
loud, as to produce, by their loudness, a sensation
of uneasiness in the organ of hearing.
2. Offences annoying to the taste. By physical force,
intimidation, or deceptions practised, the wrongee
induced to swallow, or take into his mouth, a
nauseous or corrosive liquid.
3. Offences annoying to the smell. By like practice,
fetid matter applied to the organ of smell.
