Arts or 19 Suppose now the channel through
which the information is received by R. a paper contained in
a printed Newspaper, and purporting to be a letter addressed by a
person therein named to be Printer or Editor. If the letter it be in
the character of a percipient witness that the letter writer spea expresses himself writes
the information is not in respect of trustworthiness exactly
upon the same footing in the abovementioned case in which K.
the recipient functionary was acquainted with the handwriters of the

is the who the declared self alledged percipient witness is: but what is not

examined as to this matter by R. but the letter alledged by him
to have been received by him must have been so produced and shewed
to R and the handwriting of the writer alledged declared to be by the Editor
to be known to him the said Editor.
