2.
Ch. Division of Offences
§.
Quarrelt an assemblage
of offences, connecteding
by this that
for its termination, the
cognisance taken by the
Judge and satisfaction
given by the party by
whom it shall be due,
may suffice
4. Quarreltg This may serve for the heading
of a Chapter and the denomination of an offence.
Into the composition of it, may enter an assemblage
of offences, committed on both sides, in
some instances perhaps simultaneously, in
others consecutively, to the detriment of each
other, by persons, two or more, between whom reciprocal
ill will has place. That which gives
unity to the assemblage is this: viz that for the
termination of the quarrel, in other words for
the suppression of the offence considered as a
complex one, one and the same course of
operation may serve: viz on the part of the Judge,
cognizance taken by a Judge of the whole assemblage
of wrongs, and satisfaction administered
at the charge of others, to him or those to whom
on the balance, satisfaction appears to be due,
in which satisfaction may be included comination,
with or without obligation of finding bandsmen
for security against relapse.
