Severally – under the
heads constituted by the
denomination of it how
genera of
support maleficent
acts on that account
constituted offences
as acts of
delinquency and constituted
offences, the
several arrangements
and enactments are
grounded – all of them
in consideration: derived
from the contemplation
of the moregeneral
proposition contained
in the several classes
of Part I together
references to which
will all along be given:
as also per contrà
in Part I reference
to the several occasions
in Part II in which
application is made
of them respectively.
VIII
Offences inchoate
and consummate
viz

Axioms of mental
pathology correspond
to the
several acts of
maleficence, to
which, in consideration
of such
their quality, it is
thought fit to
assign the character
of acts
of delinquency
& the denomination
of offences,
with correspondent
treatment.
These axioms
are enunciative
of the sufferings
respectively produced
by the those
same offences and of the preponderancy
of this pain
over any pleasure
productible
by those same
acts to the
agent.
