To no case where either force or fraud are employed
can the circumstance of mere want of attention be applicable in the
character of an a cause of extenuation: from that circumstance in no case accordingly
can the evil of the second order receive any diminution:
for in every case as the evil consciousness on the part of
every person concerned in employing for the purpose in
question force or fraud in the shape in question, consciousness
of the probability of the effect which its evil notwithstanding he
is thus may his endeavours to accomplish can fail
of having place.
