Penal Code B.1. General Titles
Ch. VII. Concatenated Offences
the case of each denomination of offence, so
many distinguishable acts as can be found,
operating as introductory to the commission of
the consummate offence, each part introductory
act having, or being susceptible of
a different denomination, so many
are the different acts capable of being
by means of such denomination, constituted
offences. But whatsoever be the
number of them, each of them will be
capable of being traced out and demonstrated
by its own peculiar and separate
mass of evidence, and thus speaking
in general terms and upon a rough
calculation, the probability of giving
execution and effect to the law, by
the application of the several means of
expression will be, in the case, where this
division is made as the number
of the introductory offences so distinguished
is to number one, to wit the
number which has place in the case
where, without any such distinction
or division, a consummated offence
and that alone has is taken for the subject object
matter of repression.*
