§ Satisfaction

case of wrongees & oth.

applicable to his
representatives

Art. Be the wrong what it may, satisfaction
in whatsoever shape it is capable
of being rendered, should in case of the
death of the wrongee remain applicable
to the purpose of affording satisfaction
to his post-obituary representatives; the
time, when due with interest money accordingly,
to be computed from the day, on which
each distinguishable wrong was committed.
Mem. Sine haec here the reason.

Reason. So far as the compensation
fails of being plenary, so far it may happen
to the wrongor, when the means of repression
provided by the law had been exhausted,
to have reaped a nett profit from the offence:
which nett profit operates as a premium
for the commission of the like offense as
often as desire and opportunity concur.
