C 9. Offences against Justice.
He may be made to fail in point of Power by Incidents applied. a Judge must possess in order to his carrying into execution
the intentions of the Law, the impediments by which this power
may be taken from him + + may consist in making a change in the condition of either. may be applied either to his
own person or to other objects on which it is requisite such
power should be exerted.

1.st To his own Person. Impediments by the application of which to the very
person of the Judge this effect may be produced will consist
of in so many kinds of personal injuries: to wit Homicide,
Disablement and Confinement, corresponding to the three
ways in which such Power may be taken away from
him by mere physical applications, without any change
made in the bent of his inclinations; to wit by killing,
by disabling or by confining him.

or 2.ndly To other objects which may be either 1.st Things or persons to be disposed of or 2 Things or persons by means of which the former are to be disposed of. Impediments that operate by producing a change
in the condition of objects other than the person of the Judge
may regard the condition either of the objects themselves
which it is his business to dispose of, or of the persons or
things whose instrumentality is necessary to his making
such disposition.
