Things on which it may be requisite to exercise power may be 1. the subjects of the suit; or other things at large; Next and Lastly with regard to such changes as (in the
course of Law] are to be brought about in the condition of
things.
The things of which there may be occasion to make
any disposition in the course of Justice may either be the
things which are the subjects of the suit, or not.

occasion to make any disposition of them it will be either
to the end that they may serve as evidences (viz;
to warrant in point of law the doing something with respect
to persons or with respect to such things as are subjects
of the suit) or as instruments to facilitate the
