Of Incendiarism.

[(D)Intending] 1. It matters not whether the
intention were direct or indirect. See Tit: Of Intentions.

2. Whether it were the intention of the offender
to do mischief to so great an amount or not
is to be collected from the circumstances of
the place, such as the quantity of building
contiguous or near adjacent: as if it be in
the street of a town or village: or even in a
house standing by itself: if the value of it

it is only criminal devastation.
