The offences of to which the condition of a husband
are exposed are the following: 1. Usurpation may be distinguished in the
first place into such as regard the condition
itself and consequently the whole together of the
advantages and disadvantages incident to that condition:
2. such as regard those advantages and
disadvantages only for a particular time nor
only with respect to particular articles in the catalogue of their
particular articles only in the catalogue of those advantages
and disadvantages; or the enjoyment of the
one or the endurance of the other only during a
particular time. First then with regard respect to such
as regard the condition itself. These are seem to
be as follows. 1. Usurpation of the condition of a
husband. 2. Wrongful divestment of the condition
of a husband. 3. Wrongful Detractation of the condition of
a husband. 4. Wrongful imposition of the condition
of a husband. Usurpation may be either by falshood
or by force: when by falshood, if the falshood consists in the denial of a another still subsisting marriage it is called Polygamy. when by force it may be stiled
Forcible marriage. Thus far the offences against the
condition of a husband correspond exactly to offences
against trust. Next with regard to the advantages incident
