6) Offences respecting the Persons of Individuals.
-summate: and that in such a manner that each
of those positive offences has a negative one correspondent
to it. On this account it might be seem
that the natural order would be to treat of each
negative offence immediately after it's correspondent
positive one. However as there are some preculiarities is something peculiar
in the nature of these negative offences, which
prevent them from following the nature of their correspondent
positive ones , on this account there will be
occasion to treat of them [apart from the others]
in a chapter by themselves.
These negative offences it is plain are not of
a nature to admitt into their brain of any offences of the inconsummate
kind in their brain. [belonging to them] Offences inconsummate are
positive acts done in prosecution of a certain intent .
Whereas Negative offences consist [expressly] in the not acting. at all.
