15) Personal Injuries Simple.

the agent had in view, and this end event is supposed
to be of the nature of those that are pernicious to
the community, or on any other account generally
displeasing [to those who thinks of it:] See Jus. 45. In this case the motive that is meant is what that which we have been stiling the exterior motive.
Motive bad by subserving a bad intent. The other is when not that event alone is consider'd,
but [such other events as are supposed likely
to issue from] the disposition of the agent: i:e:
such other events as are supposed to be likely to issue from the disposition which is supposed to be manifested by
[the incident of] his taking making that in question for the
end in view with him under the circumstances in
which he made it. It this case the motive is stiled
a bad one, not as being of itself an bad event which
is of itself mischievous or displeasing, but as indicating
the probability of others that are so.

Motive bad in itself. Illustration. I give you a blow: it is because I am angry with
you. The word b cause which here stands intimated
by the word "because" is of the class of those which
we term moral ones: it is that which we any or at least some one of those
to which we have been giving the name of motives.
Angriness is the disposition a man is said to be in
when the motive to those actions to which he finds himself impelled by [that proceed from it]
is the pain of him with whom he is [said to be]
angry. in the Now as there is no the way and only way for the in which a community
suffers, [is to be affected] to suffer, but by in the affection
the suffering of by some one or other of those persons
that are stiled members of it, suffering, by their being affected]
