Of Insulting Threats Menacement.
Insulting threats defined. An iInsulting Menacement Threat is where in the intention
of expressing contempt for You or of exposing You to the contempt
of others a man is concerned(A) in intimating(B) + + or giving to understand that by
his means some injury will be done to Yourself(C) or to another<add>(D)</add>
Exposition.
[(A) Concerned] See Tit. [Associates in Delinquency Co-offenders.]
[(B) Intimating] It matters not whether You actually apprehend
or have reason to apprehend that the threat will be executed.
Reason
For without executing the Threat the purpose of exposing
You to contempt may be answered barely by denouncing it.
[(C) To Yourself] It matters not however whether this threat
be immediately addressed to You, or to another person; especially
if with intent that You should hear of it; as if, being
in company with You and a third person, your adversary
should say to that third person, in Your hearing, I will
pull that fellow by the Nose: or I will whip that man's Wife
