C 1 (not done) Of Things found
A man When a thing has been lost (a) or
abandoned (b) any one who [first] perceives it while
it is so circumstanced may be said to have
found it
[(a) Lost] A thing may be said to be lost when he
no one who has any right to the possession (aa) or custody (bb)
of it knows where (cc) it is in to meet with it.
[(aa) Possession] See the Civil branch of the Law Tit. Of
Possession.
[(bb) Custody] See the Civil branch of the Law Tit. Of
Custody.
[(cc) Where] A man may be said not to know where
to meet with a thing when he knows not the in what
place it is, in such manner as to be able to
perceive it, or any moveable thing in or any building to which it is contiguous, or within which it is
contained.
This branch of the law will require considerable

In whose favour soever it should be
thought fit to appropriate establish a property
in any of those criminals of this description,
to give efficacy to such appropriation will require
