C 15 Theft Embezzlement and Fraudulent obtainment Of Things found
Things found circumstances not grounded on or occasioned by any
default or contrivance of his even if only it appears
that he could not have taken notice
Caution against malicious prosecutions
To prevent malicious contrivances, a person
applying for liberty to give such notices should be obliged
to make oath that he knows not, and that he believes
no one interested in the goods in question knows
by whom they are were taken, or in whose possession or custody they are.
Embezzlement Changing a thing for one of inferior quality If having received a thing and being bound to return
it or deliver it to another you convert it to your own use or
instead of the whole or any part of it knowingly delivers a thing
which he knows to be of inferior value this is embezzlement to the amount of the
difference in point of value
As if a miller having corn delivered to him to be
ground reduced to flour gives back only a part of it in flour
or gives the flour of bad corn instead of it
Fraudulent obtainment by what suggestions In regard to fraudulent obtainment it matters not in what manner
