THEFT PRETENCE of Title — Finding
Propose that he who conceals a thing found above
a certain value shall be exposed in public with the thing
tied fastened to him in some ignominious manner: as
about his neck.
APHORISM
Finding is a pretence of Title.
THEFT. PRETENCE of TITLE.
To what appears to belong to the Husband, the
Wife hath a pretence of Title.
THEFT Pretence of Title.
Finding Taking with pretence of Title in one instance, viz.
finding of a Hawk, without bringing it to the Sheriff
is made punishable with 2 years imprisonment
or more by 36 Ed. 3.22.37 Ed.3.19.
