III. Marriage Settlement.
4.
Contingencies to be provided
for J.B.
from H. saving special
ground for amendment.
5.
For no relatives but the
issue of the marriage,
does H's provision extend:
not for collaterals
of husband or wife.
6.
Ulterior greatest happiness
principle would
not be prescribed: if
by any monitor, by aristocratic
pride This
J.B. leaves to chance.
7.
Original state of things
supposed: in the male
sex, the immoveable,
in the female, the money,
if any.
8.
For the converse, it
not being with equal
frequency exemplified
H. makes no provision.
9.
Younger children's money,
ten times the income
of the Estate,
leads to a supposition
that the wifes having
a fortune, and that
the amount of it, was
in H's contemplation.
But of no fortune
does it make mention.
This the foundation:
follows H's superstructure.
