Agenda [as to 1. Matter]

1. Agenda as to 1. Matters
1. Matters Articles not
enactive, designate respectively at loss
by the appellatives Expirative.
Ratiocinative and
Instructional - one or more
Instructional are to Legislature
and Legislative
Draughtsmen.
For examples of the mode
of application see Official
aptitude maximized &c
In H. the Enactive
is so demonstrated in the
"Preliminary Enactment",
It is printed in Rules:

1. Whatsoever portions of your matter are not of the
enactive character, you will probably find referable to one or
other of three heads, or to two of them or all those together:
namely 1. Expositive. 2. Ratiocinative. 3. Instructional
the Instructional consisting of suggestions to the Legislature
and its Draughtsmen with a view to eventual amendments
on future contingent occasions. This mode For an exemplification
of this mode of distribution and denomination
see Official Aptitude maximized; asExpenses, minimized.
—
On Mr Humphrey's Code the separation is so far made
that the Enactive matter part is printed by itself, frommade the other
species of matter without any ulterior distinction are separated:
and at the outset the word Enactments is employed
in the heading of the sevenfirst Articles Articles distinguished byfrom the rest the appellation
of Preliminary.
2 Form
2 The enactive
distinguish rather by
size than form of the
type. Hake, an unbroken
mass, Strains the

except in small purely
for distinction
The th ratiocinative and instructional matters might
may naturally be considered as matter for notes, and as such
in conformity to custom be printed in a type less than
that of the enactive; and, as between the one and the other, the
same: being distinguished, one from the others, by these two
denominations respectively, employed in headings to the several
articles: plan for both the bottom of the page as usual in the
case of Notes
Ratiocinative and
Instructional might be
in Notes: at any rate
in a smaller type.
So The expositive: that
with the rest it might be
from the enacting
to avoid burthening the eyes
and pocket of those already
possessed of the import of the expounded words.
—
The exposition matter same to present some claims to admission
and the time. For ment of lessening the apparent in appearance
pearance, the quarrels
of the master, and thence
the burthen in the manner
on the part of those
mind the import of the
word expanded has
been fixt by the exposition given and the use made off it, it the best course may perhaps be to post it off to the Notes, to wit either in partpart or in whole. |
