§§. Numerical denomination

divisional operations performed
on the same integer
2. Correspondent designation characters

[Now then we] apply this rule now to Mr. H.'s scheme
regularly under the correspondent results of the numerical
scheme they will rem stand thus.

§.1. Section. §§.2. Bisection. §§§.3. Trisection. §§§§.4. Quadrisection. §§.§§.§ Quiquisection

§§.§§.§§. Sextisection
Firstly, secondly &c
being the several results
of an ulterior sectional
operation performed upon
his No 2

So far, so good, till we get to his fourth Chapter of his fourth
title and then the immediate results of the results of the sectional operation is
performed upon this same fourth Chapter are not sections but
No's. Thus are different denominations given to one and the
same object. No is the name not only of a Quiquisection
but of a Quadrisection likewise.

In common practice for giving denominations to the result
of the s different series of sectional operations performed upon the
matter of a library work the words employed are 1. Book. 2. Part
3. Chapter 4. Section, 5. Title Article 6. Title. But amongst in regard to these
several the priority or say procedure is far from determinate.
At present It might almost be determined by lot. It would require a Statute
analogous to that of Henry the eighth H.8.ch to settle it
But when settled by law, then would come the difficulty of lodging it
in the memory, for in the memory commonly would for a long time
continue maintain itself in the of law.

In the plan of nomenclature here proposed this difficulty
and without the expence of an Act of Parliament this difficulty is it is
lessed pretty effectively with tolerable success removed. Bis and tres are familiar to
every ear and every eye. The words Quadrisection and Quiquisection are
longer than could have been wished. But [+] [+] considering the frequent
use of the compound words
or conjugates of them
there are it is believed for readers of
to whom these words conception or memory two appellations with those that follow then any
considerable embarassment would be created by them.
