Yes if mendacity were restrained. But mendacity being
licenced and encouraged, be the real cause of suit ever so simple on either side of the suit by a
customary dose of mendacity complication delay, expence and
vexation be swollen to any pitch at pleasure. On the plaintiff's
side to the true statement of the case a mendacious statement of any
length whatsoever may be added or substituted. On the defendant's
