§.3. Suits in pendency
Lawyers indemnity
Now as to professional men and their indemnity
for the rendering it adequate the difficulty and
the national burden would not upon examination
be to a great degree so burdensome as upon a transient
glance might be expected. So far as regards the
official class the principal compensation has been
fully established and without any objection raised
extensively acted upon and why the same principle
should not be applied to official professional men no reason
seems assignable. For this purpose of men thus circumstances
classes may be distinguished.
Class 1. Those who in the mean time will have
been eliminated by death superannuation or voluntary
retirement
Class 2d Those who by contemplation of diminution
int he quantity of encouragement will have been
repelled from the entrance into the profession
Class 3d Those who will have given acceptance to
the several situations of Judge, Registrar, Government Advocate
and Eleemosynary Advocate under the here proposed
system
Class 4th and last composed of those who at whom
the moment of extinction of the existing system of
procedure shall have found in possession of incomes
to a certain amount from the lowest to the highest.
Of these incomes the several amounts will be ascertainable
with little less precision with the incomes attached
to the situations of the several official subclasses for
which indemnity has already been provided afforded.
