1. Giving execution and effect to it: to wit for the sake of the
benefit purported or intended by it to be rendered by it
2. Declaring the invalidity of it: to wit for the sake of the
benefit receivable from the being discharged from the
burthen purported or intended to be imposed by it: the
burthen of rendering the correspondent appropriate
