Imperfections of reconciliation
system
Imperfections this reconciliation System may be seen to labour under,
(meaning by imperfections relative any relating had to what would
have been desirable under that system and what h actually has place
under the here proposed System) are the following:
1 Want of extent
desirable
1. Want of the extent desirable: of the extent in which it is
carried in the logical field of law and legislation. Of that field the precise portion
occupied by it no measure so exact as could be wished
can be taken and given from the account which in the Report gives is given of it

contract in one or other of these modifications which have place

2 Subject matter of Demand fo of personal service in some shape or shapes

wrong done to person by common assault, to reputation by defamation
or vituperation, or to person and reputation together, by assault
or menace detrimental to reputation — Within these limits
as for as can be ascertained is contained that portion of the
logical field of law and jurisdiction within over which the authority of
the Commissioner extends.
