In England — no
reasons but whereas
it is expedient
So much for Denmark. See for the business of giving
reason for laws and for frankness and sincerity as to the
evidence and character of Judge what sort of rules there are
in Denmark now
Now for England. Look to England! For reasons we
have Whereas it is expedient to do so and so then comes
the enactment by which so and so is done.

Impeccability and absolute
wisdom of
Judges supposed
Then as to frankness of declaration in regard to the conduct
and character of Judges. On every occasion comes assumption
of impeccability and absolute wisdom. Impeccability
and absolute wisdom, on the pa and in whom? On those
who if the constant and uninterrupted habit of mendacity
for the most mischievous of purposes — depredation and oppression
by sale and denial of justice — have any thing of vileness in them
any thing in them that can with propriety be termed vile,
are not only among the abusedest of the abused but among
the vilest of the vile. But of the dirty work of those by
whom be on all occasions is reaped such compleat
confidence in them, what is it that they are not at all times
ready to do? what political or is a are they have they not
been at all times as ready to work, (as holy writ) with greediness?
