JB's system adoptible
by Denmark

With such dispositions, of which not only
the birth has been manifested by the foundation
but the continuance by the continuation of this
beneficial institution, who can say but that adoption
may be given to a plan system which has for it's end in view
the maximization of the benefit which, in that happy
country, though upon a comparatively small scale,
has been thus established. A Commonwealth — a
Representative Democracy — was indeed the species
of Government, with a view to which the here proposed
Judiciary Establishment, with the course of procedure connected
with it, was originally devised. But the applicability of
it — the practicability of establishing it — without detriment
to the superior part of the Machinery of Government —
is a democracy a former Government to which it
is confined? — Not it indeed. Slight indeed is the attention,
by means of which it might be made applicable with
no less congruity to a Monarchy as pure and absolute
as that of Denmark; and this, without enfeeblement
diminution in any degree of the strength of that
same superior part of the Machinery, as above. This
alteration — what is it? Answer: nothing more than the
taking the locative power with relation to the several
Judges and their subordinates and of the hands in
which, under the proposed Constitution, it stands
invested, and lodging it in the hands of the Monarch.
