Elucidation Petition

Supplement
§.1. Justice of Peace Courts
§.2. Elucidations

1 Find them as be the Justice of the Peace
Courts.

Here however at the very first approach
to the field presents itself, as hanging over it the whole field, and enveloping
it, a thick mist, which, on pain of confusion and
misconception, must be dispelled. It is constituted by the
one appellation, Justice of the Peace, employed indiscriminately
in the designation of three sorts of Judicatories, differing
from one another in the most essential particulars:
differing in respect of composition, and thence in degree
of aptitude: differing as to the extent of their respective
logical fields of jurisdictions: while the local fields are
mostly the same. These are,Judicatories 1. the single seated Judicatory,
2. the many seated Judicatory, composed of Justices of the
Peace, 3. the many seated Judicatory composed of Justices
of the Peace
