Supplement
Postcript.
§. 2. Elucidation
1 Justice of Peace Courts
2 Official Establishments

Now for the Official Establishment: viz
that is to say of the Judiciary which belongs to the present branch of
application is made of the a made of procedure
subject Prayer may be seen occupied
with this part of the subject, numbered paragraphs 27:
namely from 1. to 27. inclusive: pages from 176 to 184.
To the proposed arrangements therein contained, the
above observations will be found applicable; except
the exceptions which here follow.

1. Of the Judiciary business committed to the
change of the sort of functionary denominated as Justice
of the Peace, a certain portion is within the competence
of of them acting singly. So far, so good.

Of the advantageous effects produced by single seatedness,
in comparison of many seatedness, in the case of official
functionaries at large: a pretty full exposition has
place already in the papers of the author of these pages.
In the first volume of a proposed Constitutional Code,
not as yet (Ao 1829. April ) published, they are already
in print: pages from 216 to 233 Chapter IX. Ministers
collectively §. 3 In Considerable detail,
ratiocination matter of the ratiocination in kind, referable to this head, may also be
seen, in the publication which has for its title the word
Panopticon: and in the just mentioned proposed Constitutional
Code, ulterior matter, of the same complexion,
in addition to the above, has place in the Ch. XII. Judiciary
Collectively. §5. Number in a Judicatory.

Applied to both these branches of the Official
Establishment, namely the Administrational and the Judicial one at present under consideration, namely the Judicial this of single-seatedness will, it is believed,
be found a feature of cardinal importance: but in a
more particular degree in the Judicial.
