Compassed in the extreme must be the account here
given of the French judicature as delineated in Bonaparte's Code
Here Purposes here proposed two: 1. Affording additional elucidation
to the here proposed new system. 2. Suggesting Submitting to the consideration of the legislature
of that country the idea of, and some little facilities towards the making application of it

Now then for Here then, as before the several Devices with indication of the uses made of
them respectively, in Bonaparte's Procedure Code

1. As to P the course of the Procedure Course
Device 1. Parties excluded from Judge's presence. Not in a
direct way: but in an indirect way as far as should serve in the
Draughtsmans draft. From the Criminal judicature, Attorneys excluded
by direct prohibition. This was going too far. W If a party
can neither attend himself not get any person but an Attorney to
attend for him what is to become of him. Nor was it going far enough.
If in so complicated a business as a business growing out of land
particularly foreign land a man can do without an Attorney, why not
in so many others so much less complicated. Of the several diversifications
of the character capacity of party's judiciary helpmeet, whether
substituted or concomitant, and whether in his own right account as
suitor, account as in the case of Guardian, Agent, and the
several other sorts of trustees, the list noticed is not in any
the law of any France or any other country so exclusive as
the demand

Attornies in attendance, the Attorney on both sides, the
Draughtsman will have. No Attorney no Justice Parties the Judge may suffer to stay in
one as he pleases. When then, as well might they be

Advocate a nondescript

As to an Advocate, it is an amount literally speaking nondescript.
Read Bonaparte's 5 Codes from beginning to end, from not a
syllable in any one of them would you suspect that there had
any one of them were ever in existence
