§. 2 — Elucidations

Straw in shoe indeed? well, and
what of that. Gown on back, is it not advertisement
not less unequivocal and somewhat more conspicuous
than straw in shoe? Think of the
vulgar adage of the pot and the kettle. Is it
in the power of imagination to figure itself
a case in which the application of this adage
would be more unequivocally, appropriate?
